30 Days of Photos - Day 7

A picture of your most treasured item

I’m going to make the assumption we’re talking about material possessions here, because, otherwise, my daughter would technically be my most treasured item.

So, I choose, my iphone.  Probably cliché, but, seriously, if I didn’t have it, I’d probably be lost.  It has all my contacts’ information, my calendar (including both work and personal appointments), email, it’s my source of entertainment, oh, and, yeah, I use it to communicate.  J

30 Days of Photos - Day 6

A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

I’m not interested in trading places with any specific person per say, but, I think it would be really neat to be a nurse for a day.  And that includes all of the physical & emotional requirements that come along with it.

I’ve contemplated a career change into the nursing field a few times.  I love the idea of being a nurse and working in a medical setting, but, I really think I lack the compassion to be a good nurse.  Empathy isn’t my strong suit, and I feel it’s a quality great nurses have.  Generally, I hate people, and would prefer to avoid them if I could.  But, at least I know this about myself, so that, I don’t choose a profession in which people would either piss me off all day or, where I would disregard people (either intentionally or unintentionally) when they need care the most.

30 Days of Photos - Day 5

A picture of your favorite memory

This one was hard for me.  I kept thinking back on all the fun things I’ve done over the years, but, I think the most favorite memory I have to date was from the day my daughter was born.  Not that the day was all that great considering I had to have a c-section because she was breech, but, seeing her for the first time was definitely something I won’t forget!

30 Days of Photos - Day 4

A picture of your night:

We went to the Tallahassee Symphony Pops in the Park!  It was the first time I had seen a live orchestra.....probably since the last time I played in one!!  Too long for sure.  Abby was a fan of the guest trumpet player, Longineu Parsons, who did a Louis Armstrong tribute.  I was a big fan also!  They ended the night playing the 1812 Overature (which, somehow, she slept through) but at the end of the song when all the "cannons" go off, they had everyone light sparklers.  Here is a photo looking back on the crowd with all the lit sparklers!

30 Days of Photos - Day 03

A picture of the cast from your favorite show:

I PPH (pink puffy heart) this show!  I love all things creepy, and this show is not only creepy, but generally unpredictable - which is awesome.  I hate watching shows and in the first 5min I figure out the end.  I'm almost always wrong when I try to do so with this show.  I love it.  Great psychological thriller and also super creepy at times.  Perfect Jessica TV!

30 Days of Photos - Day 2

A picture of you and the person you have been close with for the longest

Here is my BFF, Christina.

This photo was (obviously) at her wedding.  But I like it because we both look hawt in it.  And, we both look hot!  We must have just finished dancing or something.

Anyway, I’ve known this chica since we were both 12 years old.  I remember seeing her outside of school for the first time at our church (which, I didn’t realize was ‘our’ church at the time).  She was helping her dad hand out programs.  J   Then, we played a violin duet together at a regional competition….twice….the same one.  Yeah, we messed up and started over, but, we got excellent ratings because of how great it was that we knew we messed up and recouped from it!  Hahahaha.

Anyway – that’s her.  We’re still “like this”

30 Days of Photos

I’m stealing this idea from my BFF in order to get me blogging again.  I got caught up with returning to work, starting daycare, and being diagnosed with post-partum depression that writing got cast to the wayside.  So, here I go again.

Here is the challenge:

·         Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh.
·         Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.
·         Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most messed up things with.
·         Day 11 - A picture of something you hate.
·         Day 12 - A picture of something you love.
·         Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist.
·         Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.
·         Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die.
·         Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you.

·         Day 27 - A picture of yourself and a family member.
·         Day 28 - A picture of something you're afraid of.
·         Day 29 - A picture that can always make you smile.
·         Day 30 - A picture of someone you miss.

So, here is day 1:

Me at the beach circa 2008

1.       I love my middle name.  It’s Leigh.  And, I don’t like the name “Lee.” And, I even considered going by Leigh in college vs Jessica.  But, I never followed through with that.  And, I’m glad I didn’t, cuz, I ended up having a bunch of classes with a dude named Leigh.
2.      I wish I were taller.  Yes, I know, people probably are rolling their eyes at me, but, I have this weird obsession with being tall (I have the pumps to prove it).  And, I’m already “tall” (5’7”), but I still want to be taller.  I’d say, I’d like to be no shorter than 5’9”, but, I don’t think I’d want to be over 6’ either.
3.      I am not creative.  At least not in the traditional sense.  Ok, yes, I can play the violin, carry a tune, and pretty much figure out anything having to do with music, but that does not make me creative.  I used to hate having assignments that were “choose your own topic” – cuz I never knew what to choose.  I need direction!  Which is why I like music – I have pieces of paper that tell me what to do.
4.      I am addicted to Angry Birds.  Who isn’t?
5.      I love the color red.  I especially love wearing it.
6.      When my hair was really blonde, I used to always want to be a brunette.  Now that it’s darker, I wish I were more blonde!  Secretly though, I’d kill to be a redhead – like:

Kate Walsh red (yes I know her color is fake)

NOT

Carrot Top red

7.      I have never broken a bone – knocks on wood
8.      I have three cats (who are currently annoying me, but, are slowly working their way back up the snuggle pole)
9.       I am REALLY anal about time.  Seriously.  I’d rather be 20min early than 2 minutes late.
10.   I used to hate pork, but, moving to “The dirty souf!” changed that.  Now I love me some BBQ pulled pork!  But, I always loved bacon.  Mmmmm, bacon!
11.   Continuing on with the food trend, my favorite cake is Red Velvet.  Followed by “Funfetti” in a close second!
12.   When I was little I used to want to be a princess.  And then a veterinarian. And now I’m a surveying & mapping supervisor.
13.   I once was a competitive swimmer.
14.   I love the fall.  And the spring is growing on me.  But, I can live without the summer – for the most part.  Except I love the beach.  So, gimme the beach in the spring.
15.  I had a hard time thinking of this list.  It’s totally because I’m not creative (see #3).  I could have used a little more direction!
