CD Review 2: Thirsties Duo Diapers

Thirsties, the company that makes the diaper covers/wraps I like, also makes a pocket/AIO diaper.  They are called the Thirsties Duo Diaper.  We bought two of them to try out.  They come in the same colors as the covers.  We chose one in "Ocean" and one in "Orchid."  Just like the wraps, they come in 2 sizes, (size 1 and size 2). Ours are both size 1.

Here is what ours look like, closed and open:

What I really like about these pocket style diapers, is that you don't have to remove the insert before washing.  There is an opening on both ends, so the inserts just swish out in the wash.  Therefore, I don't have to touch a pee-soaked microfiber piece of cloth before tossing in the diaper pail.  Definitely a low maintenance diaper!

The insert consists of 2 pieces - a microfiber layer and a hemp layer.  They snap together as well, and will also separate in the wash.  It's pretty great actually.

The only downside, the inserts aren't very thick.  Therefore, I wouldn't use this as an overnight diaper.  But, because it's thinner/trimmer, it is definitely my go-to diaper for our diaper bag.  It's small and easy to shove in the bag, and a really quick change when we're out and about.  I would love to have more.

Also, I wonder how long she will fit in size 1.  They are supposedly good for up to 18lbs, but, Abby is already just about 12lbs, and we have it all the way unsnapped on the rise.  I am really  not sure they'll make it to 18lbs with her.  Maybe our baby is just long (she is 23" at 2 months)?  But, I definitely want to stock up on some Size 2's.  I think these would make a great daycare diaper too.  Very quick & easy to change.

Now - it's time for my baby to fall asleep so I can take a nap too!  I'm starting to get the beginnings of a potential cold, so I'd like to kick it before it becomes a problem!  That, or I hope it's only allergies, but, we'll see I guess!
